Manufacturer: CODA BOARDS

The V-J. This Coda carving board scaled down to a range of lengths between 108 cm and 140 cm.
It is the Deep V Junior.

If you have been looking for a mono for you child, then here it is.
The CODA V-Junior.
The V-J is available in 5 cm increment lengths between 110 cm and 140 cm, with one additional, shortest length option of 108 cm. The V-J includes a Deep V swallow tail for characteristic CODA performance in powder, but the tail-cable is not mounted on shorter board lengths, as shortening the branches of the Deep V configuration reduces the efficacy of the tail-cable. On such short boards, variation in flex is nominal.

CODA does not offer bindings with the V-J. For children, we recommend releasable bindings that fit compatibly with children's hard shell boots. The central binding brakes may need to be removed from standard ski bindings to fit the monoboard configuration. Any ski shop should carry appropriate bindings and meet no difficulty mounting them on a V-J.

We think there is no „one fits all“ monoski.

Though a professional skier will be able to ride „everything“, we wouldn't recommend to buy a soft, easy beginners model, that surely will be boring, soon or even worse, wouldn't stand the stress that a pro will give to the mono.

Vice versa most monoski models that are for „the fast and furious“ will give a beginner a real hard time.

We ask the manufacturer to recommend this monoski model for a certain „range“ from first try to a pro skier. So we do ask our members, when they rate and review. Compare the opinions (like all other values on this page)..
